I can see clearly now, even though my glasses are gone! I can see all obstacles in my way! Okay, Okay…..
On Friday, I had IntraLasik eye surgery. Last year I was switched from extended wear contacts to dailies. I thought about the long term cost of this and decided that Lasik was probably the best option.
The morning of the procedure and the last time I wore glasses (or contacts). |
Jeff took me to the office and brought me back home. The procedure itself was about 5 minutes long, but with waiting in between the two different parts of the procedure it took about 30 minutes. The procedure was very freaky at times, well with the eyeball suction and eye lid holder. The first few hours it felt like I had sandpaper in my eyes. It was the most irritating feeling I had ever felt.
Notice: Scowl=irritating feeling |
This irritating feeling lasted for about 4 hours and then I was good as new. My follow-up appointment was the next morning, bright and early. I woke up reaching for my glasses on the night stand, only to find that they weren’t there. At the follow-up, my vision was 20/20. I could even read some lines from the 20/15 and was told that I since I could do that, I would definitely be 20/15 by that evening.
I’m excited that I won’t have to wear glasses or contacts again….or at least for another 20-30 years….or until I need reading glasses.
