This week was pretty much routine for all of us. Here are the highlights of your 19th week:
- You officially got your first cold! You have a lot of nasal drainage and a cough, but it doesn’t seem to be bothering you much! Mommy has just been suctioning your nose with saline drops, and we decided to take out the humidifier to help you breath better at night.
- We started the transition of moving you from our room to your own room, in your own crib. Due you being sick and not feeling well in the evenings, and needing a little more love, this only work for one day and then you were back in our room. We’ll try again when this cold resolves.
- This week has been a little rough for daddy with trying to get you to sleep. It has been an adjustment and change for you and daddy when it comes to feeding you at night and putting you to bed. Usually when I get home from work I find you in the bed with your daddy. While I’m sure this is more comforting for you now, it definitely isn’t better for you in the long run. I pray that you will adapt to the changes soon and find comfort in laying in your very own crib.
- You had your first St. Patrick’s day and dressed up in green to go to daycare.
- You’re still waking up once a night, usually around 3:00-3:30am. You are really good about nursing and then immediately going back to sleep, so for that I’m thankful.
- You are still taking 6 ounces of breast milk while at day care and at night with daddy, and you’re nursing two times during the day.
- You tried rice cereal this week, and you weren’t quite sure of what to think of it. The first couple of spoonfuls you made some funny faces and squished your nose together. After those first few spoons, you got the hang of it and seemed to enjoy it a little more. Dr. C said that we could try it our, but if you weren’t too interested, not to force it on you. We’ll keep trying every few days.
