Most spring breaks consist of warm weather, sand, and a beach! We decided to the exact opposite and head to Tennessee for the week. My husband and I went there in September of 2009. We loved and knew that we would someday bring my husband’s kids with us. Little did we know we would also be bringing our own kiddo. This time of year the weather is definitely a lot cooler and wet than when we went during the summer. Nonetheless, we had fun and really enjoyed showing them around. On our to-do’s were:
These were all new to my husband and I, except Cade’s Cove.
The mountain views are phenomenal.
Mason was not a fan of bears.
This was not there 6 years ago, but it and a boardwalk area are now there.
The week prior to us going there was a pretty severe ice storm there. There was still some ice and snow remaining. Some of the ice was melting and the river was rushing.
The Titanic replica was being built 6 years ago, so this was a must on my husband and I’s list of to-do’s. It was great and so educational!
Ripley’s Aquarium was another one of our stops. Always makes for a good time with kiddos.
The city lights of Gatlinburg, TN.
Cade’s Cove where you are always guaranteed to see deer, foxes, or bears.
While we had fun and were grateful to be able to take the kids to TN, it will be awhile before we return.
