This month you have started nodding your head yes when we ask you questions. It’s a very slow up and down, as if you really have to think about the up and down motion. For the most part you answer appropriately, but sometimes you say no when I think you really mean yes. For example, when I ask you if you want more food, you say no but you will still eat more and act like you want more.
We got you a basketball hoop, and you’ve learned to say basketball. You love when we pick you up to shoot the ball in the basket. You will purposefully go and stand next to us with your back towards us while holding the basketball so that we can pick you up and carry you to the net.
We also got you a slide to play with outside. These day you really like being outside. You dislike it when we have to come in, which has found you in your first time out session at daycare. You cry and have a fit when we come back inside, and you were also doing this at daycare. The crying doesn’t last long and you get over it pretty quickly, but you have to learn that throwing fits isn’t appropriate. I know that in time you will learn this, but I pray that during this time we have the right things to say and do to teach you and guide you in the right way.
This month stranger danger has become more apparent. The Saturday before Easter, we went to church and you immediately got tearful when we were walking towards the nursery. Then, on Easter Sunday, we went to visit family and also got tearful and very clingy when they started telling you hi. You warmed up to them quickly and were fine.
Before you go to bed at night, we read two books and a few story’s from the bible. As of late, you have really liked picking out your own books before bedtime. You sit on my lap and listen, and then when I say “all done” you grab the book and flip thru the pages yourself, then you hand the book to me so I can read the next book.
You’re so smart and I love watching you learn and do different things every day!
