What a fun, fun weekend!! It’s always great getting to celebrate holidays with family. We laughed and laughed. Mason ran around, played, and laughed too! Living away from family isn’t the easiest when it comes to holidays, so we try our hardest to spend some time with my family during the holidays. Since we live so far away from them, we don’t get to do it that often. This was the first Easter that we spent with family. The past couple of Easter’s with Mason we celebrated by going to our neighborhood egg hunt and spring festival. As he gets older, it will be important to try to make it back home to celebrate with family. I love being able to share my family’s traditions with him. On Sunday morning we woke up and did a happy dance singing “He is Risen”. I’m so grateful for what he gave up for us, so that we would be redeemed!
Headed to Texas Tulips.
Egg hunt at school. It was moved indoors due to the cold weather that morning.
Road trip! He’s a pretty good traveler and does really well on our 7 hour drives.
Shadow animals. Easy entertainment.
Finally at Nana’s house.
Breakfast on Saturday at my aunts restaurant. Mason had a Mickey Mouse pancake.
I know this may not look appealing, but it’s pretty yummy! This is called a carñe guísada taco. You won’t find this anywhere we live, so I have to indulge when I’m back home.
We had a long day at the Texas State Aquarium and at the USS Lexington. He missed his nap and fell asleep before our late lunch, at Pier 99, made it to the table.
Playing with some of his Easter goodies. My mom found this really cool Thomas the Train piggy bank, and she gave him some quarters to put in it.
He loved the cascaroñes!
Playing hard.
Cracking eggs on his momma’s head and loving it!
Egg hunt!
After the Easter festivities my husband went fishing one last time before we headed back home today. He caught this baby shark. Yes, he threw it back in the water.
Remnants of a super fun-filled Easter weekend! More pics to come on a later post of our entire weekend.
We’re headed back home as I type this post. Back to work. Back to reality. I think we’ll be stopping by our house to check on the progress.
I hope you all had a wonderfully blessed Easter weekend, and your week is great!
