Moving on to day 3 of our trip to Corpus. Our 3rd day in Corpus was Easter Day. Usually, if we were at home, we would have gone to church that morning. I haven’t found a church in Corpus that is similar to our current church, but I need to work on that because I love going to church on Easter morning and hearing all about Jesus rising from the dead, and all that he did for us.
Instead of going to church, we slept in and relaxed. My mom made us breakfast, and we all slowly got dressed. After we were dressed we headed to my cousin’s girlfriends house for our festivities. We ate first and among the good eats we had were: chips and dip, chicken fajitas, burgers, bacon wrapped fish, guacamole, a bunny cake, and cookies.
After everyone was done getting their bellies full, the adults headed outside to hide eggs. This year we only had Mason and baby Easton hunting for eggs. Unfortunately, my immediate cousins with kids all had other plans 🙁 Maybe next year we can plan better at having everyone there, at least for the hunt.
Right after they got all the eggs, someone brought out the cascarones! This is always a good time. I remember as a kid we would get pretty crazy cracking these eggs on peoples heads. There was lots of running around and little bit of revenge involved. This year it was pretty laid back. There were still some unexpected hits, but for the most part we knew they were coming. Mason really loved the cascarones and he cracked a few too, with help of course. His little laugh is the best thing ever!
Overall, we had a great Easter with family!
Mason’s Easter basket. All the details on this post.
Easter basket and gifts from Mason’s nana. He loved the Thomas piggy bank and the bubble blower was a big hit!
Opening his basket.
This was his reaction when he saw his new Thomas the Train pj’s.
The aftermath…it looked a little like Christmas morning.
Sweet baby Easton.
He loved his new bubble blower!
My cousin Jacob and his son Easton.
My little family!
Mason with his nana, my mom.
The chef!
The egg hunt.
My aunt and uncle.
Another aunt.
And here is when the cascarone action started.
My aunt getting my mom!
Mason cracking one on his nana.
Now his daddy!
This is a series of photos. My uncle thought I had no clue as to what he was doing, but I knew exactly what he was up to. He had only done this same exact thing to 3 other people before me!
Jacob getting his sister.
Mason’s uncle Alex would not go untouched by confetti filled eggs!
This is another series of pics! As you can tell we were laughing hysterically! See the guy in the gray shirt partially cut out of this pic, okay. This is him grabbing a cascarone. Next pic.
This is him walking nonchalantly by his mom and cracking an egg on her head.
Now, this girl with the gray shirt on, well that is her daughter. She is also grabbing an egg right after her brother just cracked the egg on her mom.
She also walks around the table and cracks one on her mom. Back to back.
She did it twice. They got her about 4 times total, back to back! It was the funniest thing ever!
Here she is telling them to stop.
Then she lets Mason join in the fun!
Towards the end he just wanted to randomly break them and watch the confetti come out.
Remnants of a great Easter, is finding confetti in your hair the next day even after you’ve washed it…twice! Luckily, we have pretty straight hair and it comes right out. The day ended quickly, and the next day we headed back home to reality!
Until next Easter!
