Update: Our Nest Progress

I’m currently surrounded by boxes, and if I thought I had this apartment before, I really hate it now! Boxes are everywhere and I’m beginning to feel a little claustrophobic! 

We closed on our house this past Thursday! I felt like it was never going to happen. Nonetheless, there are still some things that need to be done including staining our fence and re-painting our garage. The stain on the fence still has not been done due to all of the rain. 

This past week we’ve been at the house (we as in mostly my husband) sitting and waiting for deliveries and things to be installed. It has been just our luck, but none of these things were complete without some hiccups. 

The cable set up was by far the worst experience ever! Our cable and internet was supposed to be installed on Friday. A tech did not show up twice on Friday. On Saturday they finally showed up and were an hour late. 

Our closet installation also did not happen without issues. The installer called in to tell me that he was going to be 30 minutes late. I happily said that it was fine. He ended up at the house 4 hours late! That’s after I called him and The Container Store about how he had not shown up between 8-9am. This was our third closet install with the Container Store and have never had this problem. Due to the inconvenience, The Container Store comped the entire cost of the installation. I guess it was worth the wait. Here are some before and after pictures of the closet and our media room.

This wall is divided in half between my husband and I. I have the left side and he has the right. He has drawers and tie racks, and I have drawers and a built-in jewelry storage drawer.

Never mind the extension cord! The ceiling plug was not working (another thing to be fixed) so we had to improvise. We loved these media seats and their versatility. The middle seat actually folds down and has more drink holders and built in lights.  So if we need a third seat we can just fold it back up.  

This media cabinet was delivered on Sunday, except that it is not what we purchased. Unfortunately, we can’t have them take it back because on Monday when the media equipment was installed they had to drill holes in it. 

My husband was at the house all day. They installed our security system and cameras, as well as the media room stuff. 

Yesterday our shutters were installed. We’ve love shutters and have installed them in every house we’ve owned. We love the classic look as well as how well they keep your house insulated. 

We’ve started packing the apartment up and I can honestly say that I won’t miss this place! We don’t have a lot to pack because we’ve been living with minimum things since we moved here 6 months ago. A lot of what we own is in a garage that we’ve rented from the apartment. 

Well, back to packing! Moving day is on Friday and we’ll be living in our new home this weekend! Yahoo!!!!!
