This past week we celebrated you!

We celebrated BIG!

We celebrated you turning 3!

We celebrated your 3rd birthday by taking you to Disneyland and had a Mickey Mouse birthday party (more posts later).

What better way to celebrate the most amazing 3 years of our life with you in it than at Disneyland?!

P E R S O N A L I T Y

You are something else! You keep your daddy and I entertained. Your laugh. Man it’s contagious. You have the best laugh, especially your fake laugh. You still favor your mommy over your daddy, but I’m sure someday that will change. You love to cuddle on the sofa and watch movies, but you also love to play. You do pretty well with playing by yourself. If we go anywhere you’d much rather walk than sit in a stroller. You love to make dinosaur noises…a.k.a. roar really loud. You are a shy boy…you’re like your momma and it takes a minute for you to warm up to people. You are definitely a reserved child and not so quick to do things that could result in you hurting yourself. You’re always a little hesitant to just try things. For the most part you are a pretty good boy, but like any other 3 year old you have your moments of temper tantrums and breakdowns. Usually those happen when you haven’t napped.

T A L K I N G

Most mom’s would say this, but your language is far superior than most 3 year olds. You know have an expansive vocabulary and use some large words that I’ve never heard 3 year old kids use. Not only is your vocabulary amazing, but we can understand every single thing you tell us too.

E A T I N G

You are still the pickiest eater around! You are finally starting to come around with eating meat again. For awhile you banned all meats. You love fries and ketchup and you still love eating spaghetti and you love strawberries. You still love milk and drink a cup with every meal. You still ask for your afternoon snack everyday.

S L E E P

At same time we started potty training you we officially converted your crib to a toddler “big boy” bed. So far you’ve done well and haven’t fallen out of the bed. You’re a pretty still sleeper so I’m not too concerned about it. Our bedtime routine is still the same. We brush your teeth, read books, pray, sing, and then lights out. You still like to pick out your own books to read before bedtime. You still want me to lay in bed with you while you fall asleep. You still have a nap, usually between 12:30-3:00pm. If you don’t nap you end up falling asleep early, or get really grumpy.

P O T T Y T R A I N I N G

We begin the potty training process about 4 weeks before you turned 3 and you did great! You are wearing pull up’s at night because we tried only wearing underwear and you peed in the bed. It’s a lot to have to wake you up and change your bedding and clothes and then try to get you back to sleep. It’s not worth you losing sleep over. You’ll get it…eventually.
