I’m finally getting around to posting about our trip to Disneyland/California. I’ve only had about 1,000+ photos to look at (not including photos and videos on my phone). Let me start by telling you about why we decided on Disneyland. I had originally brought up the idea to my husband of going on a Disney Cruise for Mason’s birthday, but he said no because he thought that he wouldn’t enjoy it since it’s based on shows for entertainment. He suggested Disney World, but I shot that idea down because I felt like that park was just too big for an almost 3 year old. There are 5 parks within Disney World and only 2 within Disneyland. We also timed in so that he got to get into the park for FREE. Yes, I said FREE! Any child you take that is 2 years and younger gets into the park FREE and they eat free any character dining experiences.
California {Day 1}
Our trip to California was jam packed. Everyday I had something different planned for us to do. When it comes to vacations, I’m a planner. Our flight to Disney flew out of DFW early enough for us to arrive, get settled in our room and still have fun at Disney’s California Adventure Park. My mom and brother had their layover in DFW so they caught the same plane we were on to get to California.

Here are some pics from our first day…
We took a charter bus to Disneyland because it was the most cost beneficial. I knew we would be renting a car when we went to San Diego, and I also knew that while we were at Disneyland we would not be leaving the resort so I didn’t want to pay for a rental that would just sit there and accumulate an $50/day parking fee. There is rental car company around the corner from Disney Grand Californian where we stayed so we got the rental car easily.
Our hotel for a few days.
The first character we saw was Pluto.
The obligatory Mickey Mouse ears…embroidered of course.
One of his favorite places.
We rode rides all day.
His favorites!! So glad he got to see them up close.
Mason and his Nana.
He wanted to walk everywhere. We only used the stroller for sleeping.
Games, games and more games. We ended up buying a new duffle bag to fly all of the stuffed animals that were won.
Partied so hard! He fell asleep while we were sitting and waiting for the World of Color Show to start. If you intend to get a good viewing seat you have to sit and wait for about an hour.
The wait was worth it and the show was nothing short of AMAZING!
About Day 2 tomorrow!
