This weekend we celebrated Mother’s Day just like everyone else. My mom and brother came into town, so per the usual we indulged in eating out for every single meal. We managed to sneak in some time in the sun, but mostly we just enjoyed each other’s company.

Mason and I just hung out by the pool. We played, relaxed, and I even managed to sneak in a little reading.

My mom and brother got into town just in time for dinner, so we took them to one of our favorite finds for seafood, Sam’s Boat. I don’t usually indulge in fried foods, but when in Rome. Their seafood is amazing. My brother got 3lbs of crawfish and was sweating like a dog. I don’t know about you, but if my food is too spicy I won’t enjoy eating it, but he managed to eat ALL of it. No surprise!

Mason and I woke up early and got dressed. I was determined to eat breakfast early and not wait in some ridiculous line. We did just that. We made it to Skipper’s by 8:30am and did not wait in line, but while we were there the line got longer. We ate and then headed back home for some fun by the pool. Mason was excited to have his nana there to swim with him.

We ended our day by having dinner at Mason’s favorite restaurant…Chili’s.
We brought dessert home for the boys.
I hope every one of you had a wonder and blessed Mother’s day weekend. I’m so grateful for my mom who has lead by example of what it means to love and sacrifice for her kids, and now her grandson. I could never thank her enough. I’m so glad that she was able to spend time with us this past weekend.
Also, I have to mention my grandma in heaven. I’m always thinking of her, but even more so on Mother’s Day, as she helped raise me and was just like a mother to me. To say that I miss her is an understatement and there will not be a Mother’s Day where she will ever be forgotten.
