It’s time for Five Friday Favorites and most of my favorites this Friday have to do with surviving this summer at home with a 4 year old, and trying to keep him engaged with learning and maintaining what he has already learned throughout the year.
1. Kindergarten Tool Kit // This kit is nothing short of amazing. It comes with full lesson plans and how to teach your children. So far, Mason has really enjoyed using the flashcards that the kit comes with. I’ve also been able to see what letters he needs to focus on more. He’s mastered the numbers and shapes, so our plan this summer is to master the few letters he couldn’t immediately recognize as well as start to learn and associate a few words. It also comes with a dry erase board for the kiddos to practice their writing.
2. Matching Game // We’ve played this game over and over again. It’s great for triggering the memory. We don’t use all of the cards because it becomes overwhelming for a 4 year old, but we use about 12-18 cards and match those.
3. Puzzle // I loved puzzles as a kid and so far Mason seems to like them too. He’s pretty good at them. We’re currently working on a hard one, but we’ll get it done and then buy another one. It’s a much better way to pass our days instead of the TV or iPad.
4. Pre-Kindergarten Workbook // This workbook has it all. Matching, order, numbers, colors, shapes, and letter. Mason completes a sheet or two everyday.
5. Incredible 2 // One of the things on our bucket list this summer is movies. We plan to see any kid friendly movie that comes out. We started with Incredibles 2. It was cute, and I was surprised that it has been 14 years since Incredibles 1 came out. We saw the first one before we went to see Incredibles 2. If you have kids, its a fun movie to add to your watch list.
Happy Friday y’all!
