Hello, friends!!
If you follow me on IG then you know that one of my other, non-mentioned, goals for this year is to read at least one book a month. Growing up I loved reading all of the books and I still do, I just find that I don’t have all of the time in the world to do it, so I figured at least one book a month was an obtainable goal. If I can read more than one a month, then I’m #winning. I’m hoping to share my book review at the end of every month, and hope that it helps you decide whether this is a book that you might like to read.
So, this month I started with The Woman in the Window. I finished this one a few days into February, but to my defense I didn’t get it until the second week of January. I planned better for the month of February and I’ve already started on a new book. So far so good!
Anyway, THIS book is definitely a thriller/mystery fiction book that is full of suspense. The short and gritty, without giving anything away, is that it’s about a lady named Anna Fox who lives alone and she has agoraphobia. So, since she has nothing else to do, she spies on all of her neighbors and knows every single thing about them. One day she is spying on some new neighbors and sees something that she swears happened, but did it?!
It definitely had a slow start, but once you get thru the first half of the book the plot thickens and I found that I wanted to keep reading to see what was going to happen next. The end of the book leaves you wondering what the future might look like for Anna Fox.
I would read this book again and I do recommend this book if you like thriller/suspenseful reads. I’m super excited that this is going to be turned into a movie soon featuring Amy Adams and Julianne Moore. I always love reading books before watching the movie, even though the book is always better. What do you think? Do you usually prefer the movie/show or the book better?
Related to this book, but on another note and in the news today. The name of the author of this book is not real. The authors real name is Dan Mallory and the headlines in the news are talking about a fabricated story about him having cancer to cover up his bipolar illness. There are claims that he even lied about his mom and brother dying. The whole story is so strange.
If you care, there is more about all of that here.
Happy Thursday!
