Happy 6th Birthday to my boy! I can’t say that much has changed between 5 and 6, but he is definitely far more independent and will literally entertain himself for hours.
He’s still a momma’s boy!
This year he said that once he turns 6, I’m no longer allowed to call him my baby. Little does he know that he will always be my baby.

You’re still my quiet and shy boy, but once you’re around someone for a little bit you warm up to them and start talking. I’ve noticed that the older you get the warm up time take just a little less time. You love your iPad. I’m not a huge fan of you being on it so often, but it’s amazing how much you know and just what your little mind can absorb and learn from it. I’m not even sure how you know how to play some of those games. You call yourself a gamer and you’ve said that you want to be a YouTuber when you grow up. You even started your own YouTube channel this past year. We uploaded one video and often you ask for more, but I’m always leery of doing so.

You are wise beyond your years. This past year your reading skills have improved dramatically. I’m amazed at how well you read. You no longer ask for me to read anything for you. You love math. You frequently ask up to given you math problems and then you answer them correctly. You’ve already started asking about multiplying and dividing. I love how much you love math. Hopefully that passion for math lives on for a long time.

Being a picky eater has not changed. Basically you can eat the same things over and over again. For breakfast you’ll either eat dry cheerios, turkey bacon and/or maybe some yogurt. Occasionally you’ll have a donut on a weekend. For lunch you eat the same thing…a lunchable. At dinner, sometimes you’ll eat what I cook only if it’s spaghetti or taco meat; otherwise, you’ll eat chicken, a soup, or chicken nuggets. I always try to get you try new things, but that doesn’t always happen.

Naps at school went away this year since you started kindergarten. You still have a rest time, but you will not sleep. You go to bed at 8:00pm during the week on school nights and wake up at around 6:40am. You still prefer to sleep in your mommy and daddy’s bed. No matter where you go to bed, you always ask me to hold you. You say that if I hold you, you won’t have bad dreams. We always read a book, the bible, and devotional before bed. My favorite part is when we read the bible and you recall a story or something that you learned about it in school.

The amount of teeth you lost this year is unreal. You lost your very first bottom tooth in January and they haven’t stopped falling out since. You lost a second bottom tooth in March. You lost your first big top tooth in July. Another bottom tooth in August. You lost your second big front tooth in September. The grand total of lost teeth was 5.
